Fishing Line Recycling in Crawford County

Did you know that you can recycle your used nylon monofilament fishing line? Companies such as Berkley of Spirit Lake, IA are paving the way for used nylon fishing line recycling. Programs are now available through Berkley to collect used fishing line and spools so that they can be recycled into products such as fish habitat structures.

The line needs to be free of contamination such as leaves, twigs and debris. You can either visit a participating dealer with a recycling center, drop off your line at the Crawford County Conservation District office or mail you line to Berkley Recycling Center, 1900 18th street, Spirit Lake, IA 51360-1099. The recycling program is offered free of charge by Berkley.
